Gabriel Costa joined the firm in 2018. He handles insurance and general liability defense mattersthroughout Florida, from inception through trial. His principal areas of practice include premises liability, and trucking and transportation liability matters. Mr. Costa has experience handling claims involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and substantial monetary and property losses.
Prior to joining Callahan & Fusco, Mr. Costa was a partner at a statewide defense firm where he handled various types of liability claims, including premises liability, negligent security, medical malpractice, and transportation liability, among other matters. He has experience representing insurance carriers in matters involving extra-contractual exposure. Mr. Costa has also defended municipalities and government agencies, schools, day care facilities, and social work and foster care agencies from tort claims, civil rights actions, and negligent hiring and supervision claims. He has experience in commercial disputes, business torts, claims arising from securities trading losses and broker misconduct, and domestic and international lending transactions.
Through insightful analysis of the facts, applicable law, and unique circumstances of each case, Mr. Costa effectively counsels his clients and provides practical risk management advice. He has obtained favorable resolutions for his clients by summary disposition, settlement, or trial. During law school, Mr. Costa was a member of the Florida State University College of Law Business Review and was inducted to the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. Mr. Costa is fluent in Spanish.
