On February 1, 2021, Chief Judge Janet DiFiore issued a new message speaking to the status of the New York State Court System. In it she highlights the increasing effectiveness of virtual proceedings, and new amendments to the Uniform Civil Rules for the Supreme Court and the County Court. These new Amendments were made to reduce unnecessary foot traffic while increasing cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
