Beth A. Callahan was born in Newark, New Jersey, and was admitted to the state and federal bars of New Jersey in 1992. Her educational background comes from The Catholic University of America where she received her B.A. in 1989. She received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1992. She is a member of the Bar Association of the State of New Jersey, the Essex County Bar Association, and the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In 1994, Ms. Callahan was named Young Lawyer of the Year by the Essex County Bar Association and she has served as Chairperson of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Committee for the bar association. 

Ms. Callahan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard Newman, Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County for the 1992-93 court year. From October 1993 through December 2001, Ms. Callahan was an Associate with the firm of Clancy, Callahan & Smith, in Roseland, New Jersey, where she successfully developed a practice in Special Education Litigation. Ms. Callahan served the firm’s clients on litigation matters including sexual harassment, employment matters, construction claims, securities, real estate, wills and estate planning, and personal injury actions. In December of 2001, Ms. Callahan became a Partner at Callahan & Fusco, LLC where she is responsible for managing the firm’s matters dealing with the rights of the disabled, employment law, and education law. Ms. Callahan has also served as a legal analyst for Court TV and frequently lectures for the Professional Development Corporation on Special Education Law.
