Karen Vega is an Associate for Callahan & Fusco and is based out of their New Jersey office. Ms. Vega is licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York. Her practice is focused on civil litigation and insurance defense. 

Before joining Callahan & Fusco, Ms. Vega was a legal services attorney in New Jersey, where she specialized in public benefits matters and represented clients in administrative hearings involving unemployment and supplemental security income. Ms. Vega was also an Associate at a New Jersey firm where she focused her practice on education, labor and employment, and litigation matters. 

Additionally, Ms. Vega served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Mary K. Costello, of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division. During her time there, Ms. Vega reviewed motion filings and documents to prepare memoranda on all aspects of civil motion practice and offered recommendations to assist the Judge with her decisions. Ms. Vega also served as a court-appointed mediator to facilitate settlement during Special Civil Part mediations. 

While in law school, Ms. Vega worked as a clinical law student in the Rutgers Law School Intellectual Property Law Clinic where she handled numerous IP matters in the areas of trademark and copyright law. Ms. Vega also served as the Senior IT Editor of the Rutgers Law Record, the Treasurer of the Association of Latin American Law Students, and was a member of the Minority Student Program. Ms. Vega was also a summer Associate at the staff counsel offices of an insurance company.
